At the farm there is a small
store called locally a "comisariato" , here the workers
can buy at special wholesale prices all their products and supplies.
Whenever the farm buys its needs of rice, beans, corn, oil, etc.,
it is done wholesale, so this bargain is passed on to the "comisariato",
giving the opportunity to the workers to stretch its salary.
At the farm there are several
silos to store corn and beans, there are silos for the farm but
also for the "comisariato". The farm buys enough of
beans and corn for the whole season (twice a year in Nicaragua)
for the farm kitchen as well as for the store |
