We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our baseball team for their second place finish. Selva Negra sponsors a baseball team comprised of Selva Negra workers, they played a 18 week season competing against 15 other teams. Other teams included La Fundadora (another coffee farm), La Chispa and San Ramon (both regions of Matagalpa). The teams are registered with the federal office of Sports with the government and form an official league. This year we made it all the way to the championship game and got second place. We're very proud of them. We would also like to thank the Rogers Family for their donations that made our teams look so good. The Rogers Family donated the funds for the purchase of the baseball uniforms, at hearing that they had received this donation, the team leaders chose to place Pete Rogers' name front and center on their uniform. |
