This is the time when the farm is in full force. In this quarter we will be picking, possessing, drying and storing the coffee. We expect that picking will continue on until February, but at the rate that things got started only time will tell. The coffee harvest is an exciting time at Selva Negra as in most coffee estates because there is so much activity. Additional help is hired during this time to help with the amazing amount of work involved in hand picking each red bean in each of the plantillos at the estate.-Read More-
We had a very exciting Rainforest Alliance seminar at Selva Negra where our lead personell had an opportunity to learn directly from the Rainforest Alliance personell. During this seminar they reviewed the rules and regulations, adn then proceeded with a walk throughout audit of the estate.-Read More-
The wastewater from the coffee processing is a major environmental issue which can cause major damage to rivers, wildlife as well as the drinking waters of whole towns. We at Selva Negra have for over the last decade been processing this wastewater through a cleaning process that as a by product creates methane gas.-Read More-
