Easter in Nicaragua is something special, like Christmas, but for a whole week. Families take time to spend with one another, relaxing, visiting places, and enjoying life. Easter in Selva Negra Resort is busy, we serve buffet the entire week, reservations must be made with plenty of times since all the cabins are booked, many visitors just come for the day. We have families who come every year, making their plans the previous year. We have families that come for the day, for their first time, and are amazed at how easy it was to get to us, how their bus trip was not long, and how much they enjoy spending the day walking in the trails, sitting on the benches by the lake, and feeling the family atmosphere surrounding the entire estate. We set a table for the children to do arts and crafts, color Easter eggs, a tradition not normally done by the Nicaraguan, so many children are doing it for the first time. We have a campfire on the weekends, and roast marshmallows, also a tradition we have brought along from the states. This year's Easter celebrations were wonderful and we look forward to next year, maybe we'll see you here. |
