We are excited to showcase an entirely new guest experience through this comprehensive and exciting renovation. We have started our remodeling project by updating our one-bedroom bungalows, we will continue with the renovation of the lodge and restaurant building. We intend to offer our guests a modern eye opening view where nature abounds. The eco lodge is located within the cloud rainforest and the bungalows are situated in wonderful gardens with amazing green roofs that are a marvel to the eye. Thanks to green engineers, environmentalists and architects including Mathew Falkiner from Simplemente Madera and Carol Sternberg, we have determined a set of actions for improving the experience and comfort of the bungalows while not causing any damage to the environment around them. Some of these actions include: |

1. Roof work - General roof repair and maintenance was due, but we were afraid of loosing the tradition of our green roofs. The orchids that call them home and the delicate ferns that add character to the bungalows would have been dearly missed. Therefore we have come up with a happy solution for all. The old green roof is removed slowly and carefully, and each piece placed on the floor like puzzle pieces. New roofs are then put in place and secured to strengthen and renovate the roofs. The old roof is then placed on top to return the beauty of the orchids and ferns. Simple, strong and beautiful. |

2. Improved light and ventilation - Windows have been enlarged in at least two sides of the bungalow to allow better air circulation and more sunlight into the cabin. These wonderful windows allow the fascinating views of nature to be enjoyed first thing in the morning into late at night, making it easy to identify and appreciate the hummingbird hovering by or the little lizard crawling up the tree. |

3. Updated Interior Design - We have chosen a soft serene palette of creams and browns to complement the new interior design. Contemporary amenities in the bungalow include: 100% cotton sheets and towels, built-in closet, extended Queen sized beds, integrated light fixtures, and updated plumbing fixtures, including waterfall shower head. Natural wood Simplemente Madera furniture selections of a loveseat, desk, chair and tables complete the new interiors. |
